My whole life I grew up playing sports. Growing up, the sport of choice always seemed to be soccer or baseball. When I entered the 4th grade my interest in basketball started to grow. I still continued to play all the sports for a long time. In 9th grade I test the waters with football, but didn't have as much fun as I thought I would. But during high school I was really involved in sports. In 9th grade I played football, basketball, and soccer. In 10th grade I just played soccer. And in 11th and 12th grades I played both basketball and baseball.
I would have to say now my sport of choice is basketball. Unfortunately, I have never been amazing at any one sport. But I have always been decent at pretty much any sport. That is how it is with basketball as I continue to play weekly at my church. In high school I had a great time playing basketball and much who who I am is because of the time I spent playing the sport.
In 11th grade my coach, Kevin Osnes, took me under his wing and helped me develop as a player and as a person. I spent a lot of time with him and to this day look up to him as a person who is influential to me. My senior year, I got screwed over in basketball. Possibly one of the most disgusting individuals I have ever had to meet came into my life as my basketball coach. I won't mention his name, but those close to me can ask me who it is and I will tell them. Although I despise him, I learned how to overcome obstacles to achieve what you want in life.
When I turned 19, I went on a mission for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in Sacramento, California. I loved every minute of it. I was in California from October 18, 2006 until October 23, 2008. I wish some how I had a teleportation device and could go visit more often then I do. But I can't. I really miss being out there and would go back in a heart beat if I could.
Since, I have been home I have lived in Arkansas. I worked for a company, Tradehome Shoes, until this past August when I found a new job working for New Balance of Rogers. My life is indeed a journey! I moved to Rexburg, ID in August 2011 to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing. I am also clustering, or specializing, in Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management.
